Talking and texting while driving has become a very significant problem. Unless and until it becomes common for the families of those injured or killed by DWD to be awarded large financial settlements in civil trials it is likely that we will continue to see >3K killed (likely a gross underestimate) and many many more injured each year. Alternatively, develop and require the technology that would effectively prohibit cell phone use in ANY form from a moving automobile. Frankly, while I abhor government intervention and prefer 'market forces' to condition behavior, THIS problem is so pervase and threatening, Big Brother is likely to be the best/only answer.
