True meaning of Memorial Day

Did you know Memorial Day started off as Decoration Day, which originated after the Civil War to commemorate fallen Union soldiers?

Today, we care more about burgers than we do about our fallen soldiers. Editors often want funny political cartoons, so it's tough when our cartoonists get serious about issues like this they find important. Here are five great cartoons that are right on the mark about what's really important on Memorial Day...

This story shall the good man teach his son,
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered,
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition.
And gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's Day. - William Shakespeare, 1599

That says it all. - Semper Fi!
